Hello! I’m Alaina Berry, and I’m thrilled to be part of the incredible team here at Finney Injury Law, where I serve as a Litigation Paralegal dedicated to supporting clients through some of life’s most challenging moments. My journey to this career has certainly been unique, and I believe those unexpected twists and turns have shaped me into the professional I am today. These experiences give me a distinct perspective when it comes to understanding and advocating for our clients, and I’m proud to use that to help others during tough times.

My story began as a single teen mom, juggling the challenges of life and motherhood. Like many people, I wasn’t sure what the future held or which direction to take. I explored various career options, always striving to create a stable and loving home for my son. It wasn’t until I found myself in a Paralegal program that I truly discovered my passion for law. I owe a great deal to my amazing professor, Christine Highlander, who became both a mentor and a source of inspiration. Her encouragement ignited a spark in me, and things began to fall into place from there.

I also owe a special thank you to my Grandpa, Tom Briggs, who has been a lifelong inspiration. He taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, and belief in myself, which kept me going through countless challenges. One of his favorite sayings, “Control the controllables,” has always stuck with me. It’s a simple yet powerful reminder to focus on what I can control and not waste energy on things beyond my reach. His unwavering support and guidance helped me push forward, and thanks to him, I graduated and continue to strive to be the best person I can be—both in my career and in life.

During my time in school, I worked multiple jobs (including overnight shifts!) just to keep things afloat. I’d work all night and head straight to class in the morning, knowing the hard work would eventually pay off. It was around this time that I found Finney Injury Law. From the very first day, I knew I had found my professional home. The firm’s genuine care for its clients and commitment to doing things the right way made me realize that personal injury law was where I was meant to be.

After gaining valuable experience at Finney Injury Law, I took some time away to focus on my family and welcome my youngest son into the world. That period gave me a chance to reflect on my journey and recharge. Now, with my Paralegal Degree in hand, I’m beyond excited to return to the field I’m passionate about. This is the career I’ve worked so hard for, and I’m eager to make a meaningful impact once again.

Outside of work, I love cheering on the STL Blues, enjoying a meal at La Fonda (my favorite Mexican restaurant), and indulging in a good crime documentary. I also enjoy exploring new places and finding hidden gems in the city or nearby. And when it comes to dessert, I’m all in! From cakes to cookies, I’m always ready to treat myself. Most importantly, I cherish every moment spent with my boys—they motivate me every day.

As a Paralegal, my goal is to bring empathy, understanding, and a personal touch to each case. I know how personal injury can deeply affect families, and I am here to ensure our clients feel heard, supported, and empowered every step of the way. Alongside the talented attorneys at Finney Injury Law, I’m committed to helping our clients navigate their cases with confidence, offering them hope for a brighter future.

I’m so excited for the next chapter of my journey here at Finney Injury Law, and I look forward to continuing to make a difference for our clients. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me-I'm here to support you through this challenging journey and help you find the hope and justice you deserve.
